VAC
A general software for hydro- and magnetohydrodynamics. VAC aims to advance a system of hyperbolic equations by a number of different numerical schemes. The equations are stored in separate modules, and they can be selected by a simple configuration of the VACPP preprocessor. The numerical schemes are able to handle discontinuities and smooth flows as well.
VAC contains source terms for viscosity, external gravity, thermal
conduction (isotropic or field aligned), resistivity, radiative cooling.
Self-gravity is also implemented, but it is not thoroughly tested.
The user can easily add new physics, new initial or boundary
conditions, new output file formats, etc. VAC has implicit time
stepping (but not parallel). VAC can work on any generalized grid
(not just spherical or cylindrical). 1.5D and 2.5D grids are
also supported (with axial or translational symmetry in the .5D).
